Interns

The Private Practice Program™

The traditional path to becoming a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (LMFT) can be financially challenging, with many hours of low to no pay internships required. We believe there’s a better way. Our Private Practice Program™ allows our interns to earn a reasonable income while completing their required hours and gaining valuable experience.

Why Intern With Us?

We offer a collaborative and engaging environment where you can learn from experienced therapists, contribute to the well-being of our diverse client base, and grow as a mental health professional. With us, you’re not just an intern – you’re an integral part of a team striving to bring hope and healing to those who need it most.

What Our Internships Look Like

Hope Helper Internship Program (HHIP)

Our flagship internship initiative, HHIP, is a paid program for budding therapists. This comprehensive structure ensures interns actively participate in client sessions, work under the seasoned expertise of our supervising therapists, and gain hands-on experience across diverse therapeutic disciplines, excluding roles that necessitate dedicated clinical settings.

Diverse Exposure

Our program is not limited to Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Interns are exposed to a broad spectrum of therapeutic approaches, ensuring a well-rounded education.

In-Depth Training & Feedback

Interns are equipped with rigorous training, including navigating our state-of-the-art digital platform while prioritizing client confidentiality. They are also introduced to our unique rating system wherein supervisors assess their work, ensuring continuous feedback and growth.

Financial Incentives

We value the dedication and hard work of our interns. Hence, they start with a wage that’s 15% above the minimum wage. Performance-based opportunities for salary increases are reviewed annually, fostering motivation and consistent professional development.

Transition to Supervisor Roles

At On Call Hope, growth never stops. Once our interns complete their licensure, they are warmly welcomed back as salaried supervisors. This creates a nurturing environment of mentorship, where they can guide the next batch of interns, ensuring a cycle of continuous learning and evolution.

Community of Growth

We believe in nurturing relationships and professional growth. Our program doesn’t just focus on skill development but also fosters a sense of community and belonging, enabling our interns to be a part of an ecosystem that values them, supports their aspirations, and offers avenues for endless learning.

The Hope Helper Internship Program is a launchpad to a thriving career, an invitation to be part of a transformative journey in mental health care, and an opportunity to make a genuine impact in countless lives.

Compensation Model

Supervisors

The OCH Supervisors Program

What Our Supervisor Program Looks Like

Great supervisors are the backbone of an effective therapeutic community. Our Supervisor Program empowers experienced therapists to lead, guide, and train our interns from the Hope Helper Internship Program. Here’s what being a supervisor with us entails:

Continuous Growth

As a part of our commitment to lifelong learning, once our interns obtain their licensure, they have the opportunity to transition into our salaried Supervisor roles. This progression reinforces our belief in the potential of our therapists and our dedication to their professional advancement.

Mentorship at its Best

Supervisors play a pivotal role in shaping the experience and skills of our interns. They provide vital feedback, share their wealth of experience, and act as a guiding beacon for those in the initial phases of their careers.

Compensation

Our supervisors’ competitive starting salaries come with the potential for incremental annual raises.

Diverse Therapeutic Training

Our supervisors are not confined to just one therapeutic domain. They have the opportunity to oversee interns across various therapy disciplines, ensuring their expertise is continuously diversified and expanded.

Engaging with a Larger Mission

Beyond their day-to-day tasks, our supervisors are crucial pillars in our mission to revolutionize mental health care access and delivery. They contribute to a broader vision, ensuring that quality therapy is within everyone’s reach.
Joining our Supervisor Program is not just about advancing a career—it’s about embracing a leadership role in a community dedicated to healing, support, and positive transformation in the realm of mental health.

Supervisor Feedback & Evaluation Process

Here’s how our supervisor-intern feedback loop operates:

Structured Rating System

Supervisors employ a systematic rating mechanism, evaluating interns on a scale of 1 to 5. This transparent structure ensures that feedback is consistent, objective, and comprehensible.

Regular Review Sessions

Beyond the numeric grading, supervisors hold regular one-on-one review sessions with their interns. These meetings are opportunities for detailed discussions, allowing supervisors to provide constructive criticism, highlight areas of improvement, and commend exceptional work.

Dynamic Feedback Integration

Interns are encouraged to integrate the feedback received into their therapeutic approach. This dynamic, iterative process ensures a tangible improvement in skills and technique over time.
